what is the best TV Tuner card that can pick up DVB-T signals that work's in Linux ?
I have the latest WinTV card that is unsupported at the moment...
DVB-T is also known as Freeview and seeing as the UK is going to turn off its analoge signal and the broadcast's are already in MPEG2 this should be the way to go in the UK and EU if you want a PVR....

No, the HD-3000 card is an AMERICAN HDTV card and not a DVB-T card. The card will not work in the Europe or Australia. The poster is looking for a EUROPEAN digital TV card.
I've been looking for the same card. I know the Hauppauge Nova-T card (DVB-T)will work but doesn't include any hardware MPEG stream decoding. TechnoTrend (which makes Hauppauge's card) also makes a card with hardware decoding. If you use the budget card but want to output to the TV, you may want hardware decoding.
There are also USB interface units but using USB 1.1. means choppy signal; wait for USB 2.0 or FireWire units.
To get the TechnoTrend cards, try www.dvbshop.net or http://www.usa-x.org/1shop/default.php
Hope this helps and good luck.

Hi,
I have a DigiTV card from Nebula Electronics, I haven't tried it with Linux yet but there's some info on their web site (http://www.nebula-electronics.com/support/developers.asp), also look at http://www.linuxtv.org/
BTW Nebula Electronics support is excellent, the best I've had from a supplier before).
Cheers Ian

Avermedia's AVerTV DVB-T USB 2.0 (http://www.averm.co.uk/avermedia/aver/products_digitvtuner_dvbtusb2.asp?show=2) now supports Linux.
Their site says so (see link) and what driver to use. I'm ver tempted to give it a go, especially since you can put it on a laptop.

I have 2 Avermedia AVerTV DVB-T PCI cards and i cant say im impressed. They barley work in linux (frequent IRQ lockups) and the windows software is just AWFUL. And you need a perfect antenna signal to get smooth playback.
I would never recommend anyone to buy an Avermedia product.
The only card im happy with is the TwinhanDTV Ter-CI
(http://www.twinhan.com/product_terrestrial_4.asp)
It works out of the box in both linux (u need kernel 2.6.12+ for the CI module i think) and windows. And its much more forgiving about signal strength

Johan, can you please tell me the pci id of your twinhan card. I have a twinhan 3030 mantis dvb-t card which I don't seem to find the correct drivers for, so if you could supply a listing of the modules you are using it would probably be helpful as well.
