My Scientific Atlantic Digital cable box has been improving its channel changing speed, but recently increased to a fourth digit. When TiVo changes its channel, it only inputs 3 digits. Therefore, there's about a 10 second pause between punching in channels on the TiVo remote, and the channel actual changing on the TV. I've tried all the available SA box codes in the TiVo, but none of them (yet) emit 4 digits.

Bob, be very careful about buying a set top box. Scientific Atlanta does not sell their boxes. SA codes the box to work only in the market sent to. That is a box originally sent to Time Warner Austin will not work in Dallas, Miami or any other market. I know, I bought a box (SA Explorer 8000) from Ebay and when I tried to get Time Warner to activate it, they said they could not and it was the property of another cable company. The Teche at Time Warner went on to say that even if it was shown not to be stolen they could not change or modify the codec firmware that was set up in the box at the factory. I contacted techs at SA and this was confirmed. He also said that they would not reconfigure the codec for use with my cable provider under any circumstances.
