« DVD Recorders | Main | Purchasing a ReplayTV »
I am looking for a device that will playback television shows I have archived on my computer. I had hoped to be able to do this with TivoToGo but that seems unlikely at this point. The two likeliest devices I have seen are the PRISMIQ MediaPlayer and the D-Link MediaLoung DSM-320 Wireless Media Player. Which one of these is the best choice, or is it something else I have missed?

You may want to watch the topic I put up earlier about the UPnP Servers. Lots of devices support media playback using UPnP. Even the Gateway networked DVD player. If you can have one software server for any of them, than any one will do. You can then buy for the extra features with confidence that they will all play your files.

what about hauppauge's mediamvp?
How are you archiving your files on your PC? It really depends on what format(s) the content is in.

Actually, there is a free PVR software package called GB-PVR that will act as a MediaMVP backend server. With MediaMVP's going for around $80, it might not be a bad deal.

Why not just write them to a DVD and then play them in your DVD player?

I need a device like a DVD or CD player that can load film
or powerpoint presentation and be connected
to a TV to ne viewed.
This device has to be comapactible with PC and can play most of
the media files.
